Rough October Start (10/7/2011)

Quick update here, I've only been able to log about 26 hours to start October. Down 1.5 buy-ins so far. I caught a cold earlier in the week so pretty much just laid in bed for two days sick as hell. Today I forced a session (first since Monday), managed 7.5 hours but finished down an uneventful -$120 total.
I'm not sure why I'm having such a hard time stringing together a decent win. It seems whenever I find the best action game I become brutally card dead during that 2-3 hour stretch. And whenever I do pick up a few hands it's at the wrong times, or the opponent catches up and I have to fold.
Poker has not been going great, but I feel ok. Really not much to write about, same old right?
I have fortunately met a lot of new friends out here. I think I've networked well and have become friends with a few of the better pros in the area. I think it's good to have real poker friends, as long as you don't actually live with them. Also my new roommate seems cool. And this Sunday my parents are visiting for the first time since I've made the move as a pro, should be interesting.
Next week I plan to go to NYC to visit family. So I'm hoping to log some good volume before I leave. Hopefully I'll be fully recovered from this cold soon and ready to go. Maybe I can even get all in with a middle set and hold up one of these days. Just kidding, that's just crazy talk.
Cheers!
