After many years of going to school and saying no to drugs I graduated with a degree!  Little did I know it would lead me to being beaten into the ground at the hands of a soulless corporation.  After 3 years I quit to play poker professionally.  I've now been full-time over 7 years, yet revenge is still in the air.  It's crazy to look back and realize I started this blog as I was simply 'pumping myself up' to quit the real world and go full time.  Now I also do some writing for fun as a 'day job' (some freelance and paid, but an insignificant sum compared to 5/10 live) and airbnb my place when I don't feel like playing as much.

Staying Focused (9/9/2012)

The down-swing has ended, I'm not broke, life goes on.  I really forgot about the last one until I glanced at my last post.

July and August were two below average months for me.  Especially August where I put in almost 150 hours and finished up around $2200 (all of the play at 5/10).  But I fought hard, lived below my means and didn't lose any net worth.

This month I've been fighting really hard and have thankfully started off strong.  I've been playing almost exclusively 5/10.  The strong start should take the pressure off and allow me to stick to my game-plan going forward.

I also have been trying to keep up with studying off the table.  I really want to make an effort to learn and transition into PLO some, but the next two weeks isn't a great time to do this with the tournaments going on.  Right now I need to keep playing the game I'm best at while high-stakes is more profitable.

Been reading since before you moved to AC. What is excellent is that up $2200 is a below average month! Keep it up. When things go well, you're going to hammer 'em.
