Quick Bio

After many years of going to school and saying no to drugs I graduated with a degree!  Little did I know it would lead me to being beaten into the ground at the hands of a soulless corporation.  After 3 years I quit to play poker professionally.  I've now been full-time over 7 years, yet revenge is still in the air.  It's crazy to look back and realize I started this blog as I was simply 'pumping myself up' to quit the real world and go full time.  Now I also do some writing for fun as a 'day job' (some freelance and paid, but an insignificant sum compared to 5/10 live) and airbnb my place when I don't feel like playing as much.

Life is Good (11/17/2011)

Life is good right now.  I haven’t had any astronomical upswings, but I’ve been logging steady winning weeks.  I’ve been playing mistake free and I feel my emotions are in check.  Here are some results during the past few weeks:

Week 1 (10/25- 10/30):  +$1070, 34 hours

Week 2 (10/31- 11/6):  +$745, 39.5 hours

Week 3 (11/7- 11/13):  +$2005, 34.5 hours

Week 4 (So far this week):  +$755, 20 hours

I only played 4 hours on Saturday and won a good amount.  My roommates/friends were having a party and I would have felt bad not going.  But I felt like a slacker not playing at all on a Saturday night!  So I compromised and played 4 hours, deciding to leave no matter what.  It felt great to leave an amazing game on a Saturday night.  It also felt good to hang out with actual friends on a Saturday night.  Poker doesn’t control my life.  I control my life.

This week has been quietly good so far.  It feels very uneventful, but small steady wins are completely fine.

I’m going to try to play Thursday (tonight), Friday, and Saturday.  I want to log good volume because Thanksgiving will break up much of next week.

Again my results haven’t been amazing and I'm always pushing, but stringing together wins makes me happy.  The results have been good enough during the past 4 weeks.  During the next 6-12 months I want to be averaging +4k per month.  With this average I can live comfortably and add at least 2k to my bankroll each month.  It’s not always going to happen, but I think it could be a feasible average.  I’m on pace to do that this month.  If +4k per month isn't a feasible average it's my job to find a way to get it there.  If you factor in my volume that would be around $25 per hour, I think I'm close to that.
